Born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1950, Alan graduated in 1972 from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Economics.  He earned his Juris Doctor Degree in 1977 from The American University, Washington College of Law, Washington, D.C.  Alan served as a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission until 1980 when he joined the San Francisco law firm of Littler, Mendelson, Fastiff & Tichy, specializing in all aspects of management labor relations and employment law.   In 1985 Alan helped form the law firm of Last, Zaletel & Garber where he continued to specialize in management labor relations as well as construction law.  The Garber Law Firm was created in 1998.  Alan is licensed to practice law in California, the District of Columbia and Virginia.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association.  His practice emphasizes all aspects of labor and employment law, representing Employers of all sizes.
