The Garber Law Firm has over 20 years of extensive experience in all aspects of labor relations including wrongful termination and discrimination litigation, sexual harassment litigation and prevention, wage and hour matters, "traditional" labor law involving the National Labor Relations Act, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, employment contracts, trade secrets and developing personnel policies and procedures. The firm regularly represents and advises numerous employers, ranging from large, nationally known companies to locally owned businesses in labor and employment matters.

The firm places a great deal of emphasis on advising its clients on methods to prevent costly employment related litigation. Our clients often seek our involvement and advice in the early decision-making process of any critical employment related decision. Our practical approach in counseling our clients has been successful in avoiding many potential claims and actions involving employment related matters. Our services include:

  • Providing general labor and employment law advice and counsel

  • Providing training in labor and employment law and preventative practices to managers and supervisors

  • Defending employers in discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and other employment-related litigation

  • Defending employers before administrative agencies such as the California Labor Commissioner, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment & Housing, the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, the U. S. Department of Labor, The California Workers Compensation Appeals Board, as well as other state and federal agencies

  • Representing management in labor union-management disputes arising under the National Labor Relations Act, including collective bargaining, arbitrations, strike management and representation issues

  • Providing advice and defending employers in wage and hour issues

  • Advice and counsel on various aspects of the American with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical and Leave Act, and other recent legislation involving employment issues

  • Preparing and reviewing employee handbooks and personnel policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance

  • Advice and counsel in reductions in force and its consequences
