Wage and Hour

The Garber Law Firm has extensive experience in representing employers in all aspects of Wage and Hour Law. California has unique wage and hour laws and regulations and we regularly advise our clients on complying with those laws. We defend employers in proceedings before the California Labor Commissioner and U. S. Department of Labor as well as state and federal courts in matters involving issues such as overtime issues involving questions of exempt/non-exempt status of employees, failure to pay wages due and owing, meal and rest periods, vacation pay disputes equal pay and piece rate and commission compensation plans to name a few. Additionally, we are involved in issues concerning whether or not people working for you should be classified as employees or independent contractors.  We also advise our clients when they are faced with an audit from the U.S. Department of Labor or the California Labor Commissioner.
